Beginning July 1, 2010 businesses no longer need to renew their business registration every two years. Any certificate issued after July 1, 2010 is considered permanent until cessation of the business or until it is suspended, revoked or cancelled by the Tax Commissioner. Changes in the business name, ownership or location will be considered cessation of the business thereby requiring a new business registration and payment of the $30 application fee. To make these changes, file a completed Reissuance of Business Registration (BRT-801A) along with the $30 application fee.
